CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition characterized by extended and severe tiredness or weariness that is not relieved by rest and has no apparent cause.

What Is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a condition characterized by extended and severe tiredness or weariness (fatigue) that is not relieved by rest and has no apparent cause.

Symptoms of CFS are quite similar to those experienced in relation to many of the common viral infections – for example, muscle aches, headache, and fatigue.

At Distinct Health Solutions, we have treated numerous people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome successfully. The key to treatment is to determine the underlying root cause that is contributing to the decreased function of the body’s metabolism.

Common causes include:

  • Viral infection

  • Toxin overload

  • Heavy metal or chemical poisoning

  • Digestive issues

  • Malnutrition

Identifying and addressing the underlying issue is the first step toward effectively treating CFS.

They can develop over time, or come on suddenly.

Symptoms

  • Mild fever (101° F or less)

  • Lymph node tenderness in the neck or armpit

  • Impaired mental functioning, such as memory or concentration

  • Fatigue that is severe enough to restrict activity

  • Post-exertional fatigue, where physical or mental exertions bring on extreme, prolonged
    exhaustion

  • Feeling unrefreshed regardless of amount of sleep

  • Sore throat

  • Headaches, different from previous headaches in quality, severity, or pattern

  • Joint pain, often moving from joint to joint, without joint swelling or redness

  • Muscle aches (myalgias)

  • Muscle weakness, all over or multiple locations, not explained by any known disorder
